Canara Bank Q4 net drops 30%

Bangalore-based public sector lender, Canara Bank, today reported 30 per cent drop in net profit at Rs 503 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2010 compared to the corresponding quarter last year. The total income was flat at Rs 5,500 crore during the quater.

The operating profit for the quarter went up by 12.4 per cent to Rs 1,430 crore compared to the year ago period. The board of directors, which met here today, recommended a dividend of 100 per cent for the year 2009-10.
