Cathay Pacific brings premium economy service to Mumbai

Cathay Pacific is introducing the premium economy service and replacing thrice weekly one-stop flight with direct service on Mumbai-Hong Kong route in its summer schedule. The premium economy service will be available on the route from March.

"India continues to be a market of high potential and is amongst the top ten markets for us. The performance in India has been stable despite market fluctuations We have 80% loads on our flights,'' said Charlie Stewart-Cox Cathay Pacific's general manager in charge of South Asia. Seats in premium economy cabin cost 30% more than regular economy service and cost 50% less than a business class but offer passengers more legroom, better reclining seats and wider choice of meals, said the airline's regional sales manager Rakesh Raicar.

The airline has ten weekly Mumbai-Hong Kong flights including three which stop over at Bangkok. The airline is the replacing the one stop flight with a direct service to provide better onward connections for passengers. Last year the airline increased flights to Chennai and introduced new flights to Kolkata and Chennai. The airline along with its subsidiary DragonAir operates 46 weekly flights to India.
