Edtech startup CollegeDekho.com has raised $8 million in Series B funding led by existing investors GirnarSoft and London-based Man Capital. The company said the fund would be used for expansion, research, product development and technology enhancement.

The Gurugram-based startup provides a platform that facilitates interaction between students and colleges.

"The current round of funding will strengthen our ability to create more engaging internal and customer-facing products," co-founder and CEO Ruchir Arora said.

Arora founded CollegeDekho in 2015 along with Saurabh Jain, Rohit Saha, and Rajiv Singh. The startup that began with 10 colleges and universties, now claims to be working with more than 400 colleges and universities and 300,000 students across the country.

"Guided counselling services is scarce in India and only 2 - 3 per cent students have access to this data currently. We are certain that as the education sector continues to grow rapidly, CollegeDekho will play an important part in bridging this gap and shaping the future of students in our country," said Amit Jain, founder of GirnarSoft.
