EID Parry Q3 profit jumps 50% to Rs 171 cr

The sugar and bio-products maker EID Parry India today said its net profit surged by nearly 50 per cent to Rs 171.17 crore in the quarter ended December as against Rs 114.59 crore in the same quarter last fiscal.

The company's total income, however, declined to Rs 2,131.64 crore during the reporting quarter from Rs 3,814 crore in the same period last year, EID Parry said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

The profit from its sugar segment stood at Rs 54.58 crore in the third quarter. It produced 25,306 tonne sugar in the latest quarter, it added.

The company's shares closed at Rs 373.10 on the BSE, down by 1.58 per cent from the previous day.
