Hospitality major EIH today reported 27.14 per cent jump in its profit after tax (PAT) for the quarter ended December 31, 2010, at Rs 28.39 crore.
The Oberoi Group firm had posted a profit after tax of Rs 22.33 crore in the corresponding period previous year, the company said in a filing on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The total income during the third quarter of this fiscal also increased by 26.46 per cent to Rs 301.11 crore from Rs 238.11 crore in the year-ago period, it added.
In the quarter under review, the employees' cost stood at Rs 78.41 crore compared to Rs 59.66 crore in the same period 2009, up 31.43 per cent.
The other expenditure also rose by 20.74 per cent to Rs 63.93 crore from Rs 52.95 crore in the year-ago period.
The shares of the company today jumped 1.79 per cent and closed at Rs 105.35 a piece on the BSE.
