The city-based Elitecore Technologies Ltd, a convergent billing and internet management solutions provider, plans to enter the overseas market.

The company holds a 95 per cent share in billing of the internet post-paid dial-ups in India. Elitecore has bid for billing solutions of CDMA networks in the Middle East and South East Asia and these contracts could come through in the next three or four months.

Launched in 2000, Elitecore spent the past two years in an intensive research and development drive, during which over Rs four crore was spent on developing and upgrading products.

"As many as 70 professionals worked on developing and upgrading the products and Elitecore has now reached a stage where we can push a sustained marketing drive. In fact, over Rs 2 crore has been marked for marketing this year," said Nikhil Jain, chief operating officer and president, Elitecrore Technologies.

Some of the strengths of the company include convergent billing, provisioning and customer acquisition.

"After establishing ourselves in the Indian market, we are now bidding for billing solutions for CDMA networks abroad. We have bid for providing billing solutions for CDMA networks in the Middle East and South East Asia. We will be in a position to bill voice, usage and data," Jain said.

Elitecore built up sales of over Rs 6 crore in the last one year. "We expect to double this sales figure in this year and expect a near 100 per cent growth in the subsequent years too," Jain said.

Elitecore is also engaged in bandwidth management solutions, which increase download speeds through management of bandwidth. This can be done through caching (storing) the content once downloaded close at hand so that it doesn't have to be downloaded afresh.

It can also be done by placing controls on access to users based on volume of content that can be downloaded.

"Our product Cyberoam, a comprehensive solution for enterprises who want to make efficient use of their bandwidth, control employee internet usage and ensure safety of network, has been very well accepted by the industry. Starting with internet products for ISPs three years back, Elitecore has branched into managing bandwidth, billing products and internet access softwares," Jain said.

Jain said the company is now in a position to cater to the needs of the education sector, specific requirements of corporates and internet service providers.

With over 1,50,000 man-days of billing experience, Elitecore holds a 95 per cent market share in the internet post-paid dial-ups in India, with 1 million subscribers of BSNL and MTNL alone, the company said.

With 13 ISPs, it has a 35 per cent share of the Internet prepaid dial-up connections and a 90 per cent share in the internet on cable service with 400 installations, covering one lakh subscribers and 61 cities in India, the company said.

Some of its clients include BSNL, MTNL, Tata Tele, Hughes, Bharti, Reliance, In2Cable, Zee Tele and Hathway.
