US-based General Electric (GE) has appointed John Flannery as the new chief executive officer (CEO) for India, replacing Tejpreet Singh Chopra. It has also reorganised its business units here, by combining these into one team. Flannery, who has been President and CEO of GE Capital, Asia Pacific, since 2005, will help shape a new strategy for India, consolidating “all businesses into one team with an integrated strategy.

This team will help GE grow in India through local partnerships, technology leadership and strategic investments,” a statement issued by the company read. GE’s business leaders in the country will now report directly to Flannery, who will in turn report to GE Vice Chairman John Krenicki.
