Colgate Palmolive has appointed Godfrey Nthunzi as the chief financial officer.
Nthunzi has been appointed for a period of five years starting 1 January, 2013, and will head the finance function.
Nthunzi was vice president - finance of Colgate Palmolive, Canada, which is a subsidiary of Colagate Palmolive Co, USA. There, he contributed to the improvement in subsidiary's margins and over all profitability whilst growing market shares.
Nthunzi joined Colgate in 1993 as internal audit manager and was promoted to budgets & planning manager. In 1996, he left the company to join Bristol Myers Squibb as finance director and came back to Colgate Palmolive in 2001.
