Grasim Industries registers 0.49% rise in net
The company posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 671.89 crore, up by 0.33 per cent.
The cement sales has risen 2 per cent to 3.97 million tonne in the first quarter, while the sponge iron and viscose staple fibre (VSF) sales fallen 35 per cent and 18 per cent, respectively.
The sponge iron unit was shut down for maintenance.
The lower off-take of VSF reflected on the sales. Caustic soda and white cement sales were also up during the period.
