GTL posts net loss of Rs 201 cr in June quarter

Revenues from network services stood at Rs 342 cr, power management segment accounted for Rs 259 crore

Telecom infrastructure firm GTL today reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 201.33 crore for the three months ended June 30, 2012 against a net profit of Rs 11.94 crore in year-ago period.

The company's total income from operations on consolidated basis also dipped 25% to Rs 615.98 crore in the reported quarter compared to Rs 820.62 crore in the same period last year.

Its revenues from network services stood at Rs 357.41 crore from Rs 654.43 crore in the corresponding period last year, while power management segment accounted for Rs 258.57 crore in Q1 of 2012 against Rs 179.31 crore in the same period last year.

The company's headcount was also lower in the quarter at 8,204 as on June 30, 2012 from 9,612 during the corresponding period ast year.

On a standalone basis, the company registered a net loss of Rs 209.08 crore in the reported quarter against a net profit of Rs 2.43 crore in the same quarter last year.

GTL's total income from operations on standalone basis dipped over 26% to Rs 512.90 crore in the first quarter from Rs 694.35 crore in the corresponding period last year.
