Helical starts its manufacturing unit in India

UK based Helical Auto Technology, an Actuators and Valve Rotators, manufacturing company has set up a manufacturing unit in Pune which will manufacture components like actuators and valve rotators, used in automotive automotive engines.

The company has invested over Rs 16 crore for this facility. Company already has manufacturing units in UK and China and setting up plants in Mexico and USA.

Commenting on this, Alistair Morris, MD, Helical, UK said, "The new plant in India would manufacture actuators and valve rotators and shall effectively cater to the growing need of Indian market. It will not only be able to fulfill the needs of our existing customers in a much better way but would also speed up the process of offering customized solutions to potential customers".

This will cater to Indian engine manufacturers like Cummins India, Honeywell, Turbo Energy and all the major OEMs in India.

The plant has installed capacity to manufacture 4-million units per annum.

According to Morris, as most of the multi national corporations use the design strength of Indian engineers, the India center would also look at starting the designing part of components up to certain extent in India, especially for requirements of Indian customers.
