Car manufacturer Hyundai Motor India Ltd has set its target to sell around 6.5 lakh units of vehicles in 2013, as against 6.41 lakh units sold last year. The company has its focus in the domestic market at present, and the proportion of exports in its business has changed, said a top official from the company.

Speaking to the reporters, Bo Shin Seo, managing director and CEO of Hyundai Motor India Ltd said, "We have a target of 6.5 lakh units. Last year it was 6.4 lakh." Currently the focus of the company is in the domestic market, and expects to sell over 4 lakh cars in India while the rest would cater to the export market.

While earlier the  exports was more from the Indian subsidiary of the Korean auto major, the recent years has seen a change in the proportion with more focus on the domestic market, said the company officials. In 2012, the company sold around 3.9 lakh units in the domestic market.

Meanwhile, the company is also planning to commission its engine plant which is flexible to produce both petrol and diesel engines with a capacity of around 3 lakh units, by the end of the year, added company officials.
