i2 Technologies Inc, a global provider of end-to-end closed-loop supply chain management solutions, is consolidating its existing facilities in Bangalore into a single campus. Sankalp Saxena, managing director, i2 Technologies India said, "We are setting up a campus in Bangalore to house 1,200 employees at our development centres scattered across the city.

The facility, in one sense, is an architectural marvel, designed by Hafeez Contractors. In phase one, the company would construct the campus across 1.54 lakh square feet," he added. The company also has a development centre in Mumbai. The company's development centres in India contribute 48 per cent of the global headcount and accounts for 65-70 per cent of product development, globally.

Elaborating on the company's closed-loop concept, Sankalp Saxena said that the company has leveraged the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) mechanism, to help its customers achieve their plans despite the variability in the market conditions.

This system provides an alert as and when there are deviations in supply and demand plans. Due to this feedback, the customer can adapt to the new situation very quickly and act immediately.

In India, i2 Technologies' main clients are Asian Paints, Raymonds, Escorts, Maruti and Indian Oil, while globally Dell, Frito Lay, Shell Oil, Toshiba and Texas Instruments are its clients.

i2 Technologies Inc reported a total revenue of $111 million for the second quarter (April-June) of 2004 compared with $84 million in the previous quarter (January-March). Operating income for the quarter stood at $18 million compared with an operating loss of $24 million in previous quarter.
