Information and communication technology (ICT) would change the future course of the country, particularly in energy and measurement of carbon emissions, founder-chairman of Infosys Technologies N R Narayana Murthy said today.
Speaking at Infocom 2010-11 here, Murthy said, "Information and communication technology would be used for digital marketisation that translate into use of energy and measurement of carbon emissions".
He said that with the help of ICT, there was a need to relook at traditional models of business management where "democratisation of innovation will be the new mantra".
Murthy said that when the Unique Identity Development Authority of India (UIDAI) becomes fully functional, it would help in identification of services and money would reach those for whom it was intended without fraud.
The challenges before society were 100% literacy, food, water and energy security, he noted.
