Nasdaq-listed information technology (IT) services firm iGate has entered into a multi-year contract with commercial insurance provider CNA to implement transformational technology and best practice processes.

Under the agreement, iGate will help CNA in evolving its current operations in the Long Term Care (LTC) business, and design and implement new operating model for claim and policyholder administrative services. iGate will provide key claim support, policyholder services, and customer service, while CNA will be responsible for claim eligibility and decision-making.

"IGATE secured the multi-year deal, the largest transaction in the company's history, through a competitive process involving several leading industry players. The solution, currently being offered to the U.S. and Canadian clients as an industry solution, is eventually intended to service global carriers as well," said Sanjay Tugnait, executive vice president and head of Americas at iGATE.

"Over the last few months, we have been investing in our Third Party Administration business to build an innovative platform to manage LTC business. We are seeing a strong validation of our iGATE Business Administrative Solution (IBAS) solution among other carriers as we continue to positively impact their business imperatives,"

CNA is the eighth largest commercial insurer in the US and the 13th largest property and casualty insurer in the country. It provides insurance protection to more than one million businesses and professionals. Headquartered in Chicago, CNA operates out of multiple locations throughout the US, Canada and Europe.
