India's second largest IT services company, Infosys, today said it has signed a five-year pact with Swedish group of customer-owned insurance companies Länsförsäkringar AB (LFAB) to provide application development and management support for life and non-life insurance businesses.

Under the agreement, Infosys will help LFAB improve its quality of service and time to market for its alliance members at a reduced cost, the Bangalore-based company said in a release. Infosys will be responsible for the development and management of over 200 applications across LFAB's lines of business.

Infosys will service LFAB from its global facilities as well as its local offices at Stockholm.

"Our partnership with Länsförsäkringar AB will allow the company to transform and optimise their systems and processes and benefit from improved operational performance," BG Srinivas, president and Head of Europe at Infosys said. "Our talented team based in Sweden will play a central role in delivering world-class services to LFAB using an optimal combination of near shore and global delivery capabilities."
