Jamboree, the Delhi-based firm for those needing guidance in studying abroad, has set up shop in Bangalore. Its services include training, admissions and visa processing -- the whole process of going abroad, from preparing to joining a foreign university.

It also offers guidance to students to help them pick up the right book/software for his/her area of development. The institute helps students by monitoring every student's performance and suggests ways to improve their performance.

The Rs 4-crore firm wants to use Bangalore as a stepping stone to spread itself in south India and has now sets its eyes on Chennai. "South is a huge market for students going abroad for their studies," said Vineet Gupta, director, Jamboree.

"In Delhi and other branches in north India 50 per cent of those who opt for the services of Jamboree go in for an MBA. In the case of South, only 40 per cent are expected to opt for an MBA," said Gupta. About 60 per cent of those who opt to do MBA abroad do an MBA in finance.

In 2007 the firm, through its seven branches, hopes to see revenues of Rs 6 crore. The big growth in its revenues, says Gupta, will be fuelled by the expansion into the south. The institute trained 9,200 students for GMAT in 2006 and 17,000 in GRE in 2006.
