Mahindra First Choice Services (MFCS), India's leading chain of multi-brand car service workshops, has projected a total investment of over Rs 350 crore in expanding its network in this fiscal.

"Out of the total investment, the MFCS will invest about around Rs 50 crore and the balance Rs 300 crore would accrue from the franchisees operating the auto service workshops. The company aims to take the number of workshops to 500 by the end of the financial year," said Alok Kapoor, Head- marketing & franchise development, MFCS.

The company has pan-India network of 130 operational workshops and 280 more are in the pipeline, he added.

MFCS, a fully-owned subsidiary of the $16.9 billion Mahindra Group, plans to scale up capacity to service 1.5 million cars per annum. So far, it has serviced about 420,000 cars. The company has 25 warehouses and 18 more are being set up.

The company today inaugurated three state-of-the art workshops in Bhubaneswar, Angul and Sambalpur out of 18 franchisees it has appointed in the state. It has one warehouse in the state.

The Odisha market, at present, is under-served and customers have limited options for their car maintenance requirement. With its skilled technicians, genuine spare parts, state-of-the-art equipment and robust processes, MFCS aims to fill the lacuna in this market, said a company statement.

At MFCS, customers can save between 10 and 20% on car servicing costs as compared to authorized service centers of several car brands. The company is able to provide car service facilities at competitive rates as it sources the parts in bulk from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

Each MFCS workshop uses quality spares procured at competitive rates and follows stringent quality measures including a mandatory 60 point "First Choice First Check" on every car, added the statement.
