Mangalore joins world of broadband

Reliance Infocomm launched two broadband centres in Mangalore at its Reliance Webworlds at Hampanakatta and Bunts Hostel Road. With its launch, Mangalore becomes the third city in Karnataka after Bangalore and Mysore to enter the world of broadband.
 
"With the opening of broadband centres at Reliance Webworlds, Mangaloreans now have a new-age digital destination to experience the exciting world of multi-player online gaming or reach out to their friends, relatives and colleagues via. video conferencing at affordable rates. It is a true convergence of ICE (Information, Communication, Entertainment) revolution and encompasses all consumer segments," said Viney Singh, CEO of Karnataka Circle, Reliance Infocomm.
 
Singh further added that in Karnataka, Reliance Infocomm plans to offer the widest coverage compared to other private operators by March 2005.
 
As per the vision of Reliance, Reliance Infocomm plans to increase the revenue of Reliance by 20 per cent in the next five years, he said.
 
It has a national backbone of 60,000 kms of optic fibre. Akhilesh Prasad, circle head, Reliance Webstores Pvt. Ltd., he added.
 
Reliance Infocomm will provide real state-of-the-art capabilities like video chat, digital delivery of material, digital library of music, digital suitcase, digital movies and digital imaging services, digital electronic news gathering shortly.
