Chennai-based software testing company Maveric Systems Ltd is in talks with two large educational institutions for offering specialised course in software testing.

The company in a move to increase the trained manpower base in the IT testing space, has developed a complete course curriculum which will be imparted to one of the two educational institutions for training freshers.

Maveric Systems has also recently inked an MoU with a UK-based software testing company to jointly pitch for international contracts in the global market.

N N Subramaniam, director, Maveric Systems, said, "The global market size for the IT testing space is still unclear. Leading research agencies have quoted figures as wide as $60 billion to $150 billion as the total market size. This again includes software and device testing."

In India, there are only a handful of independent software testing firms. Subramaniam said the consolidated turnover of these firms could be in the region of Rs 60-Rs 70 crore.

Maveric Systems specialises in software testing for the BFSI segment. The company works directly with banks as well as large IT development firms seeking independent testing on a project to project basis.

The company, which has limited presence in the Indian banking industry, is now looking at large nationalised banks as its key customers in the coming years.
