Mawana Sugars today reported an over two-fold increase in its net profit at Rs 37.20 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2010.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 14.05 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal.
The total income of the company increased by 33.18% at Rs 325.22 crore during the period under review, against Rs 244.18 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Mawana Sugars business activities include plantation and manufacturing sugar as well as manufacturing ethanol. It is also involved in manufacturing of chemicals, edible oils and soaps.
