Mid-size information technology (IT) services company Mindtree has appointed Ralf Reich as its business head for the DACH region, which includes Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Reich comes to Mindtree from larger competitor Wipro, where he was last working as a vice president and region head of DACH.

Ralf will be responsible for growing Mindtree's presence across these regions in the company's targeted industries including banking, financial services, insurance, retail, manufacturing, travel and transportation.

"This appointment underscores Mindtree's investment in the region and further strengthens its proposition as a value added partner for European companies," Mindtree said in a release. "Mindtree works with clients across Europe through offices in UK, The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Sweden, Switzerland, Ireland and Germany. Mindtree's European business contributed 28 per cent of the company's revenue for the year ended March 2014."

Ralf, who will be based out of Mindtree's office at Cologne in Germany, has over 25 years of experience in IT services space and was also the country head for Germany at Wipro earlier. Ralf started his career at IBM in Germany and has held leadership positions at Hewlett Packard and Unisys earlier.

"The DACH region is a key market for Mindtree, and Ralf's appointment is a significant move towards growing our presence there," said Mark Wilsdon, European head of sales at Mindtree. "His understanding of the culture and market together with his expertise within the industry will be instrumental in helping drive growth in the region, an important step in our global expansion."
