The reduction is a step forward in making long-distance calls affordable to its customers, MTNL said in a release here on Friday.
Under the One India Plan, customers can make calls to any network in the country at just Re 1 per minute.
The customers can also make local calls to any number within the MTNL network at Re 1 for three minutes.
Similarly, customers can make calls to any BSNL network within 50 km at Re 1 for three minutes.
The company had given its customers, who were under other schemes, an option to migrate to One India Plan without any additional charges.
However, the plan was not applicable for other services, such as local, STD, ISD and PCO, among others.
It was also not applicable for franchisees, ISDN, PRI and EPABX services.
This move is in line with that of the other state-owned telecom major BSNL, which had earlier reduced its monthly rental for fixed mobile under its One India Plan to Rs 180, effective November 1.
Bharti Airtel levies Rs 299 per month for FWP, while Reliance Communications has two plans with rentals of Rs 225 and Rs 499. Tata Indicom levies a monthly rental of Rs 299 on post-paid and Rs 385 on pre-paid for its Walkly services (fixed wireless).
