The National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom), in association with Aon Hewitt, launched an industry report ‘The Transformation Agenda’ at the Nasscom HR Summit (North) in Gurgaon on Friday.

The report, which aims to understand the shifting business priorities, focuses on the implications of these shifts and the future of human resources (HR), the company said.

The report talks about talent risk for the information technology-business process management industry (IT-BPM) and how the shortage of skills will impede anchoring of business to domain-specific services and social media, mobile devices, analytics, and cloud computing (SMAC) innovations.

According to the report, talent analytics is set to play a crucial role in HR, where companies will be able to identify what employees value most and then create environment to retain them, to increase retention rates.

The report also talks about changing talent priorities — how to ensure the highest productivity, engagement, and retention of top talent, and then replicating their successes by identifying the talent and putting the right employees at the right position.

Highlighting the progress the industry has made, Sangeeta Gupta, senior vice-president, Nasscom said: “The industry is experiencing breakthroughs faster than ever, life cycles for innovation are shortening and building new opportunities across the board. In this changed environment, leading firms are leaving behind the traditional models of business; hence organisations need to evolve their people practices for a sustainable future.”

The report includes inputs from organisations like indian service providers, multinational corporations and global in-house centres. About 50 % of participating organisations have more than 10,000 employees in India, with 53 % of IT companies and 47 % information technology-enabled service (ITeS) companies, according to the company.
