NCC Q1 net slips 71%

Consolidated turnover stood at Rs 1,639 crore during the quarter under review

Hyderabad-based engineering and construction company NCC Limited reported a 71.4% decline in its net profit to Rs 5.80 crore for the first quarter ended June 2013, as compared with Rs 20.33 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

Its consolidated turnover stood at Rs 1,639 crore during the quarter under review, as against Rs 1,817 crore during the same period a year ago, reflecting a decline of 9.7%. It posted an EPS (earnings per share) of Rs 0.23 for the first quarter, as against Rs 0.79 in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

So far in the current year, the company has secured orders aggregating Rs 1,045 crore. Its order book at the end of the first quarter stood at Rs 18,098 crore, NCC said in a press release on Wednesday.

NCC Limited’s scrip ended the trade at Rs 19 on the BSE today, up 2.43% over the previous close of Rs 18.55 a share.
