NetGuru Systems, a division of the Nasdaq-listed Netguru Inc, launched its sequel to India's first animated CD on the fables of Panchatantra.

Targeted at children of Bengali origin across the world, who often do not get the opportunity to use their mother tongue, the CD aims at teaching young children morals and values which are an essential part of the Indian ethos.

"The CD containing animated versions of fables such as Munir Indur, Gadhar Gaan, Banor O Kumir and Chatur Sheyaal was developed and designed by Netguru at its state studios in Kolkata," said A K Das, group chairman, NetGuru.

The theme of a sequel to Fables of Panchatantra was selected due to both, its simplicity and its global appeal. With the fantastic response the company received to the first volume, NetGuru felt that there was a demand for more classical, clean and entertaining products for today's children.

"The response to the first version was overwhelming from the US market. The company plans to market the CD extensively in the Indian, US and European markets. With thousands of Bengali families located in Western countries, the children often miss out on the pleasure of learning or knowing their cultural heritage," said officials from the company.

"Children are devoting a lot more time in watching and absorbing the creative content that unfortunately belongs to a culture quite alien to that of our own. Netguru's CD will be completely indigenous in both content and the creation. The international markets have been selected due to the high population of NRIs and People of Indian Origin wanting to teach Indian culture to the next generation," the official said.

Netguru plans to sell the CDs through music shops and retail outlets across the nation as well as utilise its channels in the US and European countries.

These CDs would also be sold through Netguru's online e-commerce portal "" netguruindia.com. The portal has fairly large base of NRIs and persons of India origin who would like to buy Indian products while being based out of the western countries. Netguru has already got a substantial response to the initial feelers given out and are confident of strong online sales of the CD.
