CN Nataraj has been elected as the president of United Planters' Association of Southern India (Upasi) for the year 2010-11. Nataraj, a coffee planter from Chikmagalur district of Karnataka, is connected with the coffee industry for many years and served in various associations including on the committee of Karnataka Planters’ Association. D Hegde, a tea planter, has been elected as vice president. He is a director of the United Nilgiri Tea Estates Company Ltd (Chamraj group). He was chairman of the Planters’ Association of Tamil Nadu (PAT) during 2002-04.
