There was a speculation that the company might set up centres in different parts of India, including Gujarat.
Progeon also aims at more than doubling its turnover from $17.3 million in the 2003-04 fiscal year to over $31 million by the end of the current fiscal year.
"For us, it is important to stay close to Infosys. There are no plans to branch out in any other state for the moment. We have a base at Bangalore and Pune and we will like to strengthen these," said Akshaya Bhargava, managing director and chief executive officer of Progeon Ltd said.
Bhargava said that in the first quarter of the current fiscal year, the company has clocked a turnover of $7.2 million. "If we continue at this pace, we will be on track for a turnover of over $31 million," said the Progeon CEO.
Bhargawa said that Progeon was striving to be a comprehensive solutions provider rather than just a transcripting. "Our voice ratio is less than 20 per cent, far lower than many other BPOs currently operating in India," he said.
Bhargava added that Progeon today works with 17 customers in 11 languages.
Progeon, headquartered in the Infosys campus in Bangalore, has a fully secured and networked capacity of 2,000 seats, spread over 100,000 square feet, with a second centre at Pune. Progeon, currently has over 2,500 employees.
Progeon has also established a centre in Brno, in the Czech Republic as part of its plans of providing their clients with access to cost-effective talent pools in geographies that meet their requirements and risk preferences.
Infosys holds 73.68 per cent stake in Progeon, which was established in April 2002. The rest is held by Citigroup Investments.
