Number of subscribers crosses one million

Hutch Gujarat on Monday said it has crossed the landmark of one million subscribers. Hutch Gujarat becomes the first cellular service operator in Gujarat and the sixth in the country to achieve this landmark.

Hutch has added five lakh subscribers over the past one year, doubling its subscriber base within 12 months from five lakh to ten lakh.

Two operators in the Delhi circle, two in the Mumbai circle and one operator in the Maharashtra circle have crossed the ten lakh subscriber mark apart from Hutch Gujarat.

Commenting on the achievement, Hutch Gujarat chief executive officer Sanjoy Mukerji said, "As part of our ongoing commitment to customer service, we will further enhance our network quality. Our focus will remain on augmenting our customer services. Today we serve a million subscribers. It has been a wonderful seven years."
