The company is planning to set up a new office in Philippines, dedicated to offer voice services to patients in the US. Besides, it is also planning to expand its capacity in Chennai, to provide services to healthcare business entities in the US.“We are planning to double our headcount from the current 5,100 in the next three to four years,” said Gopi Natarajan, co-founder, president and CEO, Omega Healthcare.
He added it would invest around $15-20 million in the next three to four years and would be funded through internal accruals.
The Philippines facility would have 400 employees, while the company would set up capacity to add around 800 more employees in the existing facility in Chennai. It has three facilities. The Chennai and Bangalore facilities are have around 1,750 employees each, while a facility in Trichy, Tamil Nadu, has another 1,600.
It plans to add capacity for another 800 employees in Chennai facility, said Natarajan. The Philippines and Chennai capacity expansion would require around $4-5 million. Both the facilities would be ready in January and the recruitment for Indian expansion would start by January, he added.
The company is engaged in various segments including medical coding with professional and facility services, data entry into software and practice management systems and accounts receivable management. It is preparing itself to cater to the vast healthcare business expected over the next few years, by providing skills-upgrade training for its employees to achieve the very high accuracy levels, said the company.
