Oracle unveils E Business Suite...

The Oracle Open World began in Mumbai today with the launch of the latest product from Oracle- the E Business Suite 11i10. The product will be available from November 8.
 
In his keynote address, Ronald Wohl, executive vice presdent of Oracle Croporation, outlined the product's features which includes a single data model incorporating 18 industry functions with a built-in daily business intelligence, easy to install and available at a competitive cost.
 
He said with this product an enterprise can have one integrated model for transactions as well as revenue tracking. With an easy to use interface, it will make data accessible and usable for the client as well as their end consumers. The Indian development centre has been a major contributor to this release, the company's management stated.
 
The first day of the conference saw an overwhelming response from the industry which was present in large numbers. Oracle laid out its growth strategy for the next 18 months. The company's strategy for India is significant for its overall growth.
 
Oracle India has added 30 new customers every year for the last five years and is one of the fastest growing markets along with China.
 
The company has realigned the Oracle business in India along four core areas such as applications, technology. industries and geographies. The development centres in India will continue to work on Oracle applications and their development. Within one and a half year, Oracle plans to significantly alter the enterprise application market and may be the dominant leader soon.
 
The conference also highlighted the Oracle-Hewlett Packard alignment for the Oracle HP E governance Centre in Gurgaon that has been operational since 2003.
 
Continuing the global partnership in the country, both companies will work towards creation of applications and technologies for the working of E governance in the country.
 
Sunil Mittal, chairman of Bharti Group and K V Kamath, CEO ICICI Bank shared their experiences at the seminar.
