Start ups in the field of clean technology have a reason to smile with an all new and dedicated forum ‘PuneCleanTech’ which is an awareness, education, and networking platform to showcase Clean Technologies developed around.
Pune based Harshad Nanal and Anil Paranjape have formed ‘PuneCleanTech’ and the New Ventures India (NVI), a joint initiative of CII-Godrej Green Business Center (CIIGBC) and World Resources Institute (WRI)in Washington DC and the FusionTech Ventures, which is the only Pune based venture capital fund focused exclusively on funding the organisation working in the field of Clean Tech.
Commenting on the concept of the forum Anil Paranjape said,” This forum has been formed with an intention to bring like minded people together so that the necessary support can be provided to the efforts being undertaken in the areas of clean technology. We have received overwhelming response not only from the players in clean technology but also from the investor community with some of the leading names attending the event for evaluating the investment potential”.
Paranjape told Business Standard that they are looking forward to invest Rs 6 crore in a project for renewable energy area. Energy sector has a great future and we will encourage such projects.
“We had came across some interesting projects like solar-power milk chiller (solar refrigeration for off-grid and rural applications), a hybrid small wind turbine that can take care of small family’s electricity needs, concept to harness the power from the wind at high altitude, an efficient system to manage effluent treatment plant, Eco friendly and efficient industrial component cleaning system, equipments and systems for energy saving to name a few." he added.
According to Paranjape there is great future for the venture capitalist since many budding enterprises are willing to start projects in various sectors like energy efficiency, renewable eenergy, waste management, watermanagement, and eenvironmentally-free products and services.
The network brings together technology professionals, entrepreneurs, students, policy makers, investors, and citizens interested in Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy, Waste management, Water Management, and Environmentally-Friendly Design/Development/Delivery Alternatives to Traditional Products and Services.
‘CleanTech Entrepreneur Workshop’ was recently organized by the forum where entrepreneurs from all over India presented their concepts in the field of clean technology.
Companies and individuals from Pune were on the forefront with as many as 10 strong concepts being presented by them from varied areas of applications including renewable energy, energy efficiency and saving, eco-friendly equipments and waste treatment.
