Jewellery-maker Rajesh Exports today reported a 949 per cent jump in net profit to Rs 98.55 crore for the March quarter.
The company had recorded a Rs 9.39 crore net profit in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal, it said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Net sales of the Bangalore-based firm grew to Rs 6,250 crore in the final quarter of the last fiscal against Rs 4,805 crore in the same quarter of 2008-09.
During the reporting quarter, the company, which deals with only gold, consumed raw materials worth Rs 6,114 crore against Rs 4,516.79 crore in the same quarter of 2008-09.
Net profit of the company during 2009-10 stood at Rs 193.41 crore against Rs 87.37 crore in 2008-09. Net sales amounted to Rs 18,478.13 crore vis-a-vis 12,341.77 crore in 2008-09.
