Ramky Enviro bags $4.2-million PCB disposal order
Turnkey project will be implemented at Bhilai Steel Plant in Chhattisgarh over next two years
Hyderabad-based waste management services company, Ramky Enviro Engineers Limited, has bagged a project from United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (Unido), Austria, for executing a project titled ‘Environmentally-Sound Management and Final Disposal of Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs) in India’ valued at $4.2 million.
The project, which is in accordance with the Stockholm Convention, envisages setting up a fully-automated plant using non-combustion technology for the decontamination of PCB oil, PCB contaminated oil and wastes and used power transformers.
The turnkey project will be implemented at the Bhilai Steel Plant in Chhattisgarh over the next two years, and Ramky Enviro will be responsible for technology, supply and installation of the project facilities, testing, commissioning and training of plant personnel, the company stated in a release on Tuesday.
