With Jacqueline Fernandez’s investment in Rakyan Beverages, which sells juices under the RAW Pressery brand, she has become India’s first celebrity to finance a consumer products firm.

With her investment of Rs 3.5 crore, the Mumbai-based start-up total net worth now stands at Rs 120 crore. The company provides door-to-door delivery services in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Gurgaon and Bengaluru.

The latest funding round shows how celebrities, with huge social-media fan base, are now investing and promoting sales of products. Similar trend has been witnessed actively in Hollywood, including Madonna’s investment in coconut water bran Vita Coco and Beyonce’s in watermelon-water startup WTRMLN WTR.

Founder and Managing Director Anuj Rakyan bagged two awards as the entrepreneur of the year in the categories of consumer business and in service business-beverage.

RAW Pressery's success in the field of cold-pressed fresh juices was acknowledged at the glittering gala and Anuj was applauded for popularizing the convenient and delicious way to fulfill one's daily nutritional needs with the company's products.

"The Entrepreneur India Awards is a platform where ideas of innovation, excellence and perfection are felicitated. To be awarded here substantiates our belief that we have managed to create something at RAW Pressery which the users consider praiseworthy and beneficial for their health. It is an honor and a privilege to be awarded in the midst of some of the best business minds of the country," said Anuj.

RAW Pressery has been taking giant strides in establishing itself as a brand with instant recognition.
