Reliance MediaWorks partners with Japan's TV Asahi

Film and entertainment services provider Reliance MediaWorks (RMW) has tied up with Japan's leading broadcaster TV Asahi to produce new episodes of Ninja Hattori, the comedy action animation series.

TV Asahi's arm Shin-ei Animation has outsourced production of 26 episodes of Ninja Hattori to the Anil Ambani-controlled Reliance Group firm.

"Shin-ei's experienced team of writers and directors, in collaboration with the team of 100 animators at the Reliance MediaWorks' animation studio is creating the new Ninja Hattori episodes in 2D-HD through a digitally mastered process," RMW said in a statement.

Ninja Hattori has been a very popular kids' show since its launch on channel Nick India in August 2006.

The new episodes will premier on air on Nick India from May 2012.

Commenting on the partnership with RMW, Shin-ei Animation Producer Satoshi Kaisho said: "It is our first collaboration with any Indian companies and also very first challenge for us to make the classic show transformed into all new digitally mastered show without losing look and feel of the original episodes."
