Samsung Electronics Co Ltd today announced expansion of its dual-sim smartphone portfolio with the launch of two new models.
The launch of 'Galaxy S Duos' and 'Galaxy Y Duos Lite' would spur the growth of dual-sim handset market in India, Asim Warsi, Vice president, Samsung Mobile said at a press conference here.
With the new launch, Samsung now offers 5 dual-sim smartphones and a total of 13 smartphone models priced between Rs 6,990 and Rs 42,500, he said, adding that the company expected the smartphone segment to contribute more than 25% to its total mobile volumes this year.
Warsi said that in partnership with Reliance, Samsung was offering a deal of 1GB 3G data or unlimited 2G data free per month for six months to all Samsung Galaxy Y Duos Lite buyers.
The company also aimed at a 60% market share in smartphones in India, he added.
