Siemens Mobility Division has won the contract to set up cargo handling facility at Delhi Airport’s cargo complex. Siemens won the contract based on its presence in the cargo handling space as well as technology solutions.
The total investment in the MHS will be euro 37 million, out of which the initial order to Siemens is for euro 27 million (approximately Rs 165 crore)
Siemens Mobility Division will outfit the main terminal-T1 with air cargo handling solution, which will include automatic retrieval and storage system, cargo workstation, pallet and container and storage and handling system, which will all be managed and controlled by high level IT systems.
It will also supply high-end automation, elevating transfer vehicles, shuttles and hoists for fast movement of unit loading devices.
