Siemens net up 67% on new orders

New orders helped engineering major Siemens post a 67.51 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 330 crore for the first quarter ended December 31, 2008, as compared to Rs197 crore for the corresponding quarter in 2007.

Total income has decreased by 3 per cent from Rs 1921 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2007 to Rs 1863 crore. Sales turnover was also down by 15 per cent at Rs1,629 crore as compared to Rs1,914 crore in the previous year period.
