SKorean co interested for 100% FDI in power equipmnt proj

Power Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde today said that South Korean major Doosan Heavy Industries and Construction Company has shown interest for 100 per cent foreign direct investment for setting up a power equipment manufacturing project in Haryana.

"Doosan has written to us recently showing their interest for 100 per cent foreign direct investment (FDI). They will produce boilers and turbines in India. The project will come up on lease land at Haryana," Shinde said on the sidelines of an event organised by ICC here.

All foreign players, who have so far announced plans to set up similar facilities in India have taken the joint venture route with local companies such as Japan's Mitsubishi joined hands with Larsen and Toubro, Toshiba formed a JV with the Jindals, Ansaldo of Italy has announced plans with GB Engineering and Alstom of France has tied up with Bharat Forge.
