Symphony Services, a well-known provider of technology-based value addition to product development companies, has announced the successful completion of one year of offshore outsourcing services to support software quality assurance and product development for Siebel Systems Inc, a leading provider of multi-channel business applications software.

Symphony Services operates a dedicated global test and development centre in Bangalore that is a seamless extension of Siebel's US-based team. The work done at this centre has enabled Siebel to dramatically reduce their development costs, improve quality, and accelerate the output of new product features and functions to market.

Siebel took a strategic decision in early 2003 to take advantage of overseas resources, and entered into a partnership with Symphony Services to build an offshore global test and development center in Bangalore. Since then, Symphony has helped Siebel execute this global strategy quickly and reliably by leveraging its proven recruiting, training and software development life-cycle management capabilities to build and train a large staff in just 200 days.

According to said Herb Hunt, senior vice-president, Siebel Global Services, "In just one year, this team is assisting us in meeting our quality and product development commitments. Symphony has helped us maintain the highest customer satisfaction levels possible, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with them."

Through its Commercial Software Group (CSG), Symphony Services helps clients to increase productivity, reduce costs, optimise product development, and improve time-to-market by leveraging highly skilled offshore resources along with its world-class commercial software development framework.

CSG can help clients improve their operating margins by 10 to 12 per cent, while at the same time freeing up clients to focus on their core competencies - defining the innovative product capabilities and features that will help them to gain competitive advantage.

Ajay Kela, president India, Symphony Services Corp (I) Pvt Ltd, "Companies like Siebel can compete more effectively by focusing their efforts on product innovations while taking advantage of cost savings, increased productivity and improved output that outsourcing offers. We look forward to helping them generate even greater returns in the years to come."
