Tata Indicom, the Tata Group's telecom access service, today launched a closed user group (CUG) facility that allows customers to make unlimited local calls to every other member within the defined user group for a flat rate of Rs 50 per month.
The service will be offered across Tata's all telecom services such as fixed wireline, fixed wireless and mobile services, however it does not cover Tata Indicom board/PCO lines.
As per the offering, a minimum of five customers can come together to form a CUG by paying the monthly scheme charges of only Rs 50.
Amit Bose, president-telecom, Tata Teleservices, said, "Customers today are increasingly looking at wireless communications as a means to increase their efficiency at work. Business customers need a reliable mobile service, without having to worry about high telephone bills so that they can be in constant touch with colleagues and business partners. The Tata Indicom CUG service effectively addresses this need of the customer and will help such customers sizably save on their telephone bills."
According to a press release, the CUG facility of Tata Indicom also does not restrict the maximum number of individuals in the group, thereby effectively allowing each individual within the group, unlimited free numbers.
