Homegrown automotive Tata Motors is eyeing a greater pie of the utility vehicle (UV) market in Uttar Pradesh.
At present, the company has a share of about 12 per cent in the state UV space.
“UP is a significant market for us, since it is of the size of almost 10 per cent of the national UV sales. We have plans to consolidate our position further,” Tata Motors Product Group Head (utility vehicles, passenger car business unit) S G Saksena told Business Standard.
The UV market in UP is growing by 15 per cent and does almost 1,600 units per month.
He said Tata Motors was growing by 22 per cent in UV segment compared to 21 per cent of the industry’s growth rate pan India.
Saksena was in Lucknow to launch Tata Aria, an Indian four-wheel drive crossover.
