Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the largest software exporter in the country, today said it plans to double its headcount in Kolkata over the next two to three years. The software firm will spend Rs 1,350 crore to set up a new campus in Rajarhat, Kolkata that will create additional 16,500 jobs.
"Our growing presence in Kolkata continues to be of strategic importance for our overall business growth. We have around 18,000 employees in our offices in Kolkata. The new campus, spread over 40 acres of land, will be built in two phases. The first phase is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2014 and the second phase by the fourth quarter of the year.
