In a review meeting on the Info Valley project, chaired by state chief secretary Jugal Kishore Mohapatra, it was decided that the power will be supplied to the Infosys building at Info Valley by distribution company CESU on temporary basis. Infosys is the anchor tenant of the IT park.
This is the second campus of Infosys in the city after its software development centre at Infocity, another IT cluster built in late 1990s. It is likely to be operational by April 2014. Info Valley park is being developed by Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation of Odisha (Idco).
The Odisha Power Transmission Corporation (OPTCL) has been asked to complete drawing of 220/33 kv lines by December 2014. A decision is taken to complete the four lane approach road to Info Valley by March next year.
The Housing and Urban Development department and Idco will take steps to make interim arrangements for water supply to Infosys which is allotted 50 acres of land for its second unit.
To attract major companies to the upcoming IT park, Idco and IT department will form a special team to approach their top management.
It may be noted that about 180 acres of land, out of 500 acres in Info Valley, is being developed as Electronic System Designing and Manufacturing (ESDM) cluster jointly by Idco and Odisha Computer Application Center.
Singapore-based Jurong Consultants is entrusted to prepare the master plan for the Info Valley project which is designed to pull investors in IT and ITes sectors.
The development of this complex assumes significance as the state's new ICT policy aims to achieve a gross ICT Turnover (including exports of software and IT services, ESDM, domestic consumption and training) of 4 billion dollar by 2020.
It also targets to achieve direct employment of 60,000 professionals in 800 IT/ITES/ESDM units.
