Two-wheeler maker TVS Motor Company today said its total vehicle sales fell by 8.3% from a year ago to 1,56,221 units in December, 2012.
The company had sold 1,70,428 vehicles in the same month of the previous year.
Total two-wheeler sales were at 1,51,735 units, down 9.6% year-on-year. Domestic two-wheeler sales were at 1,34,566 units while the company exported 17,169 two-wheelers last month.
Motorcycle sales expanded by 6% as the company sold 60,210 units in December, 2012. Scooter sales were at 30,398 units.
The company's total exports also narrowed to 20,251 units last month from 22,481 units a year ago.
TVS Motor, however, witnessed 78% rise in three-wheeler sales as it sold 4,486 units last month compared to 2,523 units in December, 2011.
