TVS Motor Company has roped in Hindi movie actor Amitabh Bachchan as brand ambassador for its Jupiter bike. This is the first time Bachchan will be endorsing a two-wheeler space.

TVS Motor Company has earlier signed up Indian cricketers MS Dhoni (for Star City) and Viral Kohli (for Star Sport), actors Anushka Sharma (for Scooty) and Mahesh Babu (in South for Phoenix).

"Amitabh Bachchan is held in high esteem in the hearts of India. He embodies the fact that success comes from talent that is nourished with great diligence, character and the spirit of wanting to do 'Zyada'. This is the philosophy behind TVS Jupiter, Zyada Ka Fayda, which we are confident will resonate across India, especially when it is propagated by Shri Bachchan himself. We are very happy to welcome him into the TVS Family." said K N Radhakrishnan, President and CEO, TVS Motor Company.

According to company's release in May 2015, TVS Jupiter was the fastest scooter in India to reach the 500,000 units sales milestone in just 18 months since its introduction into the market. The 110 cc TVS Jupiter was launched in September 2013.

According to reports, TVS Motor has become a number two player in the scooter market after beating Hero MotoCorp in sales during the first quarter of this fiscal.

TVS sold 205,579 units during the second quarter, while Hero sold only 155,525 units.
