New York Stock Exchange-listed United Technologies Corp (UTC), today said it has appointed Zubin Irani as Senior Managing Director (MD) of its commercial companies in India.
UTC is a global provider of capital goods and services to the building industry. Carrier, Otis and UTC Fire are its commercial companies in India.
The company also plans to set up its first headquarters in India, which would come up in New Delhi in June this year, a company press release said here.
Irani will be responsible for developing and leading strategies to accelerate growth of United Technologies’ commercial companies in India, driving operational effectiveness and the development of local leadership, the release said.
"Zubin's strong strategic leadership skills, coupled with a substantial knowledge of the Indian market will significantly accelerate the growth of UTC's commercial companies in India," UTC Commercial Companies' worldwide President, Ari Bousbib, said in the release.
UTC's commercial companies portfolio of products and services provides integrated support from project inception through implementation, and uniquely positions United Technologies to support the accelerated development of energy- efficient buildings in India, Bousbib said.
The India headquarters in Delhi would serve as a hub to identify partnership opportunities, oversee component localisation efforts, develop M&A opportunities and co-ordinate customer requests, the release said.
