Auto maker VE Commercial Vehicles today reported a 58.28 per cent decline in its total sales of Eicher trucks and busses in January at 940 units, against 2,253 units in the same month last year.
Its domestic sales also decreased by 59.95 per cent to 819 units, compared to 2,045 units in the same period a year ago, the company said in a statement.
Exports during the month stood at 121 units, compared with 208 units last year, down 41.83 per cent.
Sales of light commercial vehicles in the Indian market during the month fell by 52.33 per cent to 789 units, the same stood at 1,655 units in January, 2008.
Heavy commercial vehicle sales also recorded a slump of 92.31 per cent at 30 units as against 390 units in January last year, it added.
