Auto-maker VE Commercial Vehicles today said it recorded a 32.8% jump in total monthly sales to 5,065 units in March.
The joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors had sold 3,814 units in the same month of the previous year, VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) said in a statement.
Domestic sales in March last year increased to 4,722 units from 3,649 units in the same month a year ago, a jump of 29.41%, the company added.
Exports for the month also soared over two-fold to 343 units from 165 units in March, 2010.
Sales of light commercial vehicles in the Indian market went up by 22.76% to 3,263 units during the month from 2,658 units in March, 2010.
Heavy commercial vehicle sales recorded a 57.58% jump to 769 units last month from 488 units in the year-ago period, it added.
